Guest Speaker: Joshua Barnes
Joshua is the founder of Process Mentors Inc., head of Business Agility Practice. Process Mentors is a PMI Authorised Training Partner focusing on training, assessments, and coaching services.
He is a leader in the Disciplined Agile community and recognised for his mastery of Disciplined Agile. He is currently 1-of-8 Disciplined Agile Value Stream Consultant Trainers (and was the first one in the world). Joshua is a Disciplined Agile Coach (DAC) as well as Disciplined Agile Scrum Master (DASM), Disciplined Agile Senior Scrum Master (DASSM), Disciplined Agile Value Stream Consultant (DAVSC) and Disciplined Agile Coach (DAC) Instructor. He has trained thousands of people in both co-located as well as virtual live formats. One of his personal goals is to support the growth of the PMI Disciplined Agile community
Joshua has executive and mastery level certifications based on his extensive experience and knowledge. With over 20+ years coaching organisations on how to apply agile and lean principles to achieve business agility, solution development experience and supports organisations to enable delivery of value sooner, limiting risk, and becoming flexible to changing conditions by focusing on sustainable change. He has established and led enterprise-wide transformation programs for organisations adopting agile frameworks. Joshua has significant expertise in helping organisations adapt quickly to changing technology and cutting through complexity to focus on building solutions that meet business needs. In addition to his Disciplined Agile certifications, he has earned other multiple certifications from industry frameworks: SAFe Program Consultant (SPC4.5) Professional Scrum Master (PSM1 and PSM2), and Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO).
Coach and Mentor: As an agile coach, he provides training, whole team coaching and one-on-one mentoring at the team level as well as executive management, leadership and oversight roles. Consulting: Performed team member, leadership, and oversight roles throughout his career in commercial and federal sectors. He started his career as a licensed CPA, focusing on audit and accounting systems and has significant experience in banking and financial sectors. Writing: Author of Implementing the IBM Rational Unified Process and Solutions: A Guide to Improving Your Software Development and Maturity (IBM Press, 2007). Joshua has written for publications including the IBM developerWorks and InformIT. Workshops and Seminars: Has over 15 years of experience teaching and facilitating both formal courses and many types of workshops. He regularly facilitates workshops for development teams, business roles, leadership, and executives. Speaking: Joshua has spoken at multiple conferences on a wide variety of topics related to software development.
