Agile 2 and DevOps – Why We Need Both – Weds 1/5, 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM EST

About this Event

DevOps and Agile have an uneasy relationship at best – Agile is mostly about process, and DevOps is mostly about tech. The two communities are nearly mutually exclusive. And yet, experienced DevOps practitioners know that “people problems” often get in the way, even when the tech is all lined up. Agile practices are about people – and yet by leaving out the complex technical issues, they seem shallow and irrelevant.

During this talk, you will learn a powerful new way to think about achieving the promised benefits of DevOps by identifying the cultural and methodological obstacles standing in your way. The Agile 2 values and principles can support you – the ideas are framework-agnostic, and prescribe no practices but rather embrace a balanced and common sense approach. Agile 2, as compared to classic Agile, is nuanced and aware that everything is context-dependent, there is no one-size-fits-all method. Agile 2 addresses hot button topics head on – such as canceling meetings to make space for focus time, and what DevOps really needs to be about, which is how to go fast while managing risk.
